ADP Payroll System The ADP Payroll system is a web-based payroll processing program. It was adopted by Bennington College in July 2017. It is currently being used by Buildings and Grounds and Dining Hall staff. It will eventually be used by all staff members. It is currently being used in conjunction with the previous method of operation concerning How it works: Human Resources adds the employees to the system. Upon being added, the employees receive an email to their Bennington email address. The email contains a link to the ADP login site, login credentials which include a username and a registration code. The username is in the format : first initial+last name@benncoll Once the user is logged in they have to enter the last 4 digits of their Social Security Number, answer 3 security questions and create a password. Employees can then build their profiles. What its for Tax Filing Service – ADP calculates, files, deposits and reconciles payroll taxes including federal income and unemployment taxes, social security/Medicare taxes, state income and unemployment taxes, state disability insurance and most local income taxes. Payment Services – ADP makes payments (either electronically or by check payments) to third parties on a client’s behalf or at its direction. Online Pay Statements – Employee access to wage/salary data. Employees can access exact images of their pay and earnings statements (from the time service begins) and Forms W-2 (from the time service begins). Employee & Manager Self-Service – Manager and employee access to make updates to direct deposit information, tax changes and personal information. New Hire Reporting – ADP automatically transmits new hire data to the appropriate state agencies and provides management reports for all filings, including concise management summaries that verify reporting status by employee. Wage Garnishment Processing (WGPS) – ADP calculates, prioritizes, deducts and disburses court-ordered garnishments and tracks changing legislation that can affect compliance. Time Management Time Data Collection – Employees enter time and attendance information via online timesheets. Time and Attendance Management – Time and attendance data is continually and automatically summarized, rules are applied and calculations are performed to maintain accurate records for the purpose of managing employees and feeding payroll. Scheduling – Employee schedules with filtering, editing and auditing capabilities. Employee time off can also be viewed and managed. Standard Reporting – Monitor and analyze time and attendance with reports on time cards, payroll, attendance, schedules, and weekly/monthly hours of service. Labor Analytics – Key performance indicators such as labor cost, overtime and absenteeism Troubleshooting Incase of an emergency or malfunction, the protocol is to call ADP.
